Fear is not us

There is nothing more healing and strengthening than the revelation that there is no fear in Love. No fear whatsoever. None. There is no carrier wave for fear in Love. This deep understanding of the fearlessness of being is present here - it is to be found in God, and only there. When Franklin D. Roosevelt said "The only thing we have to fear is fear itself", Christianity and the Science of Being, which makes it practical says: "There is no fear in Love."

Fear is an impersonal proposal, an emotion welling up - definitely an informed sense "that didn't go to College". Fear is producing an image and talks with itself about itself. It is a constant gossip show. Fear is like the signature feature of mortality. 

Discovering more and more the impersonal nature of fear has moved away the curtain and shown the emptiness of the claim. It resulted in instantaneous healing this week. A friend of mine, who had applied for a visa, encountered a vaccination mandate against seven diseases - and this could not be done over a period of several weeks. She went with confidence to the doctor, and within two days all the vaccinations were administered. There were no aftereffects, whatsoever. 

What was the basis for this fearless approach? The wonderful, most precious insight that God is our Life and there is nothing to fear; we are never alone. There was this fabulous sense of oneness with divine Mind that is so far above a material perspective on life. When we demonstrate the allness of Love, matter dwindles as a threat and fear has no meaning or voice. 

There are many tips and tricks how to overcome and annull fear in the Bible, in spiritual teachings all over the world and in the writings of Mary Baker Eddy. In her work "Miscellaneous Writings" part of a testimony of healing from a mother in Florida reads like this:

"I soon felt drawn to read the book. The little boy had seemed restless and somewhat disturbed all day; but without thinking specially of him, rather to assist in holding my own thought, I began to read aloud, “Consciousness constructs a better body, when it has conquered our fear of matter.” In a minute or two a little hand had touched mine, and I looked down into a sweet face fairly radiant with smiles.

Fear is not us. It feels foreign and it truly is so. Fear is not part of our make-up, our state of mind, our being. We have the right to live up to our spiritual being and live free from this imposition. Clear thinking is really us. The book of Proverbs in the translation of Eugene Peterson has these assuring words for us, reminding us, that God is real. So fear is not us. Common sense is us. What most wonderful blossoms are blooming in each single one of us.

"Dear friend, guard clear thinking and common sense with your life; don’t for a minute lose sight of them. They’ll keep your soul alive and well, they’ll keep you fit and attractive. You’ll travel safely, you’ll neither tire nor trip. You’ll take afternoon naps without a worry, you’ll enjoy a good night’s sleep. No need to panic over alarms or surprises, or predictions that doomsday’s just around the corner, Because God will be right there with you; he’ll keep you safe and sound."
