To move forward with grace - to move right into a solution - humility does that. We see the sky open and get to know a new feeling: Trust. You have a hunch that all is well - that you have a unique place in the universe, that you have a life. Worry is something like ingratitude in advance, while gratitude is the only acceptable response to the overwhelming goodness of Life. Love knows no worries.
Our role is not to figure out anything for ourselves. Our role is humble. We are, we have a life, a continuous life - pure and simple. God remembers, otherwise we would not be immortal. God loves, otherwise there would be no unflawed creation. God creates, otherwise there would be no activity of good. The infinite law of divine Love, the pristine consciousness of goodness, Mind, which outlines but is not outlined, is our center and circumference, our core and our context. We discover who we truly are, every day. How precious everyone is, how powerful kindness, how resilient meekness, how sweet patience. Is there anything we can do to improve perfection? Does worrying help? Are our shortcomings or great accomplishments of any meaning to Love? "Look up into the sky, and see the clouds high above you. If you sin, how does that affect God? Even if you sin again and again, what effect will it have on Him? If you are good, is this some great gift to him? What could you possibly give Him? (Job 35:5-8) Life is all about discovery. Not about us. You better get used to solutions and progress. I can see the sparkle in your eyes as I write this. And I am sharing with you one of my favorite poems: Worshipper, not worrier By Bea Roegge From the June 8, 2009 issue of the Christian Science Sentinel Dost thou "love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind"? This command includes much, even the surrender of all merely material sensation, affection, and worship. This is the EI Dorado of Christianity. —Mary Baker Eddy "Stop fiddling with the universe," the angel said to me. "Your role is worshipping divine reality." "You don't create and never have but live in God's celestial now, nothing ashamed of, nothing to fear. There goes the worry from your brow." I listened to the angel voice, and sought the Life divine. No need for me to bring one change to this immaculate design. Worshipping God's plan for man includes the universe unchanged by my finagling, and for me, worry free! |
