While you were doing something relevant or something routine or just nothing at all - while at the world stage other people were fighting for their freedom, for supply, for being heard and seen and acknowledged, while many are struggling with debilitating illness, hardship, depression, grief, and heartbreaking disappointment, there is also something else going on. A lot of this "something else" is this - the majestic calmness of nature, serenity and peace of harmony expressed, a project finished, hands being shaken, a spiritual insight received, finals survived and done well, a meal cooked with a surprisingly good result, promises kept, a motive clarified, misunderstandings resolved, a perspective improved. I make an effort to see the whole picture - whether in times of accomplishment I remember my fellow brothers and sisters in distress, humanity struggling and the millions of open questions still there; or whether in times of distress I make it a point in discovering and remembering the joyful, the beauty and the balanced. There is a whole picture waiting for contemplation: Either as encouragement to carry on and persevere and stick it out or as a humble reminder that the work is done only when it is done for all. When we truly know that there is a place for all of us including animal life, plants, the planet, in divine Love's spiritual law of goodness, in the dimension of Spirit.
