Invitation to Appreciation

The grateful ones are the blessed ones. The one who gives is the one who truly receives. Unselfishness is a life saver. Sharing is caring.

This month it is two years ago that I started to share with you weekly some spiritual perspective - I pour love and honesty into the blog posts, I write with consecration drawing upon real life experiences, and in order to present the precious content in a beautiful honorable way, I learned something about graphics, photography, fonts, and design. My original motive was to let others profit from a change of perspective - a change to a spiritual perspective. This motive was already unselfish, it has expanded, and it has propelled the website and the complimentary blog forward. I am truly grateful for startup help from Anna-Zoe Herr, Michelle Nanouche, Vincent-Immanuel Herr, Klaus-Hendrik Herr, Martin Speer, Candy and Dave Nartonis and others. And I am deeply grateful for the feedback I get - not to talk about the new connections and friends that are enriching my experience. Writing is inviting into a conversation.

To speak and write about spiritual matters is incredibly rewarding and is propelling my own spiritual growth forward. At times when being so busy with my work I am making a conscientious effort to keep my promise, and then I carve out extra time, sometimes an extra night, to do so. The commitment to a weekly blog post has also helped my own yearning for more discipline and trustworthiness, every day.

Because I know so precisely from my own experience how gratitude and appreciation ground us in life like nothing else, I am inviting you today to appreciate something good that has come to you. Really today! It could be an extra tip to the waiter or to the farmer who sells you your pound of tomatoes on the farmer's market. It could be a one time gift to a social cause. It could be a surprise bouquet of flowers to a family member or a church friend. Anything that comes to mind right away. It could be paying a Christian Science practitioner which you have neglected to do, because the healing was so perfect you later forgot there had been a problem in the first place. It could be anything in which you can see and act upon the insight that nothing is to be taken for granted - and that being aware of this honors the thankful individual more than the recipient of the gratitude.

In all modesty I invite you today likewise to honor the blog by giving a donation to my Christian Science practice - if you have been inspired by my writing and if you care about people like me, representing Christian Science in the 21st century in an ever expanding public world. I would blush if this paragraph would be impelled by personal pride. It is not. I honestly see the connection between appreciation and prosperity. In my case you might consider something between inviting me for a cup of coffee to paying for one of the two pro bono cases I am accepting regularly into my practice. You can also imagine that the inspiration from reading a blog post equals 30 minutes of consultation in my practice, or you wonder how much bread my family and I need in a month. Divine Love is carving out my own niche in time and eternity. Just like divine Love is doing for you. I have been blessed immeasurably by sharing and giving, and so will you. Giving is awareness - and awareness is yielding to true unfoldment.
