On the side of good

What can we say? We can listen to Brendan Cox, as he wrote on the day of the murder of his wife, Jo Cox:

"Jo believed in a better world and she fought for it every day of her life with an energy, and a zest for life that would exhaust most people. She would have wanted two things above all else to happen now, one that our precious children are bathed in love and two, that we all unite to fight against the hatred that killed her."

We, the living, will bathe Jo and Brendan Cox's children and the families of the Orlando victims and all the victims and their families everywhere in an ocean of love - and unite with them against hatred, contempt, lethal disregard of humanity. As Mary Baker Eddy wrote with so much respect, resolve, and determination (Miscellaneous Writings, p. 104):

"I will love, if another hates. I will gain a balance on the side of good, my true being. This alone gives me the forces of God wherewith to overcome all error."

If there were no Love, God, we would all be doomed. But there is infinite, continuous, eternal Love. And this Love is Mind. So love is the one thing that really knows, that understands, builds for eternity, is competent, strong and authentic, is aware of the possible, perceives when to let go, understands without words.  Only love knows what life is. Jimi Hendrix wrote: "When the power of Love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace." Amen.
