For a few days I am with family and friends guest in a fabulous traditional farmhouse in Lower Saxony. It is a wonderful get together with much warmth and inspiring encounters. This morning we individually prayed for the world and came together later to share ideas.
This farmhouse, beautifully renovated and run by Christian Scientists as a non-profit is an open house and it reminded me of home in general and how to feel and be at home. If you were to describe your apartment or house, you could do this best while being at home. It is a no brainer to describe what the furniture looks like, what your pantry holds, where your keys are, what books you own, when you are there. The same is true for God’s world, I thought, the kingdom of heaven. God knows the kingdom of heaven best and since Jesus’ pathbreaking introduction of the kingdom of heaven, we all know that God’s world is our true home. We join the Psalmist who prayed thousands of years ago: “The one thing I ask of the Lord-- the thing I seek most-- is to live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, delighting in the Lord’s perfections and meditating in his Temple.” (Psalm 27:4, NLT) Starting from within God and staying at home in God all day gives you plenty to see and feel, the whole “house of the Lord” in all its grandeur. If you stay at home in God, you will discover beauty in every pair of eyes which is looking at you, something precious at every corner, goodness, perfection, harmony. Ideas fill all space, Mind is the wisdom which guides and guards. Foresight and insight characterize your tour through this house, the power, and might of Mind are yours. Love is facilitating every single encounter with ideas. Life is energizing all creation, exempt from decline. The house of the Lord is the seat of Mind’s government, unopposed, the cause of all jurisdiction within God’s world. At home in Mind all is orderly and peaceful. Mary Baker Eddy beautifully writes: „Mind, God, sends forth the aroma of Spirit, the atmosphere of intelligence.“ (Science and Health, p. 191) So today stay at home – in God’s world and don’t leave. You feel the oneness with Life right here and you see an open path in front of you, all within the consciousness of Love, God’s home. It stretches out as far as the eye can see. Comments are closed.
