Christian Science (nothing to do with Scientology)
Christian Science is an offer to the world - “a deep-drawn breath fresh from God” (Mary Baker Eddy), it is daily practice, a science, the law of good. It is for thinkers and seekers, for spiritual activists and philanthropists. It is for people seeking peace and healing, as much as for people yearning to make a difference in a changing world. And loving foxes.
The basic textbooks are the Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy – the best Bible commentary I know. Anyone who only associates the Bible with faith and church or regards the Bible as an outdated storybook will be surprised. The Bible read from a spiritual perspective is relevant, interesting, and fused with contemporary meaning. Mary Baker Eddy is the discoverer and founder of Christian Science. |
The global Christian Science movement is an open book and accessible for anybody. It is present in 130 countries. How can you learn more? A few suggestions:
*You can read and study Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures along with the Bible and see for yourself (like this young man on a train from Rome to Bologna). *You can explore the biography and context of Mary Baker Eddy in the Mary Baker Eddy Library in Boston, Massachusetts – one of the world’s foremost institutions for the study of the life-work of a woman. *You can find some texts and publications also on this website under “Mary Baker Eddy”. *You can visit a Christian Science society or church and find out what they have to offer. The website www.christianscience.com shows you, where to find one. *You may also look into www.time4thinkers.com and find out what’s there. *You can move forward and find individual healing by contacting a Christian Science practitioner. The international network of Christian Science practitioners embraces 146 countries. This profession has existed for about 150 years. These people work for humanity, they are ready 24/7 to support and help, ready to support anybody on our dear planet earth. I am one of them.* |
