The announcement

An extraordinary painting by Giovanni Bellini is presented in the Accademia in Venice, a world-famous museum dedicated to Venetian art. The painting - from which the excerpt is taken -  is from 1465 and is entitled "The Annunciation". My husband and I are in Venice right now, and this painting caught my attention in a very special way.

The geometric forms, the tender face of the angel, the black and red colors, the exquisite floor, ceiling, and walls, the positioning of the lily, the elegant greeting with the right hand --- truly an unforgettable masterpiece, a painting that already stood the test of time. Bellini tried to imagine the moment in which Mary receives the divine messenger and learns of the message that she has been chosen to bear the Messiah, the Saviour of the world. The divine messenger teaching us about the goodness and completeness of Life.

What caught my attention is the special way the angel's movement is represented: She/He is almost flying in. You see the angel entering swiftly, you see it because only two thirds of the wings are seen (one second more and you'd see the whole wing), a waistbelt is flapping in the whiff, but most of all the garment itself is one gigantic motion, one majestic flow: What fabulous arrangement of the folds!

Spending much time in front of the painting I can feel the power of good running towards all of us with full force. Good is moving and is on our side. Good is God and is constantly pouring force good, expressing itself eternally in creative ideas.

I found this wonderful quote from Paul (himself quoting the Hebrew Bible):

And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! (Romans 10:15)

Life is movement, and it is a movement of good. We all are being visited and empowered by divine ideas who come to us with beautiful feet and bring us good news. God is good and Good is God. The Creator of all is the supreme and most dear power and energy, leading and guiding us. We each can feel the link to Good and we each are being visited individually by good.

There is a special message of peace and empowerment coming to us, and all we need to do is be still and listen and bow before Love. And we need an open door.
